James Elmer Hoffman, age 81, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Jim was born June 18, 1936, in Hoosier Township, the son of Elmer and Flossie Hoffman. He married Mary (Foster) Dannells on September 12, 2012. Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver, worked as a mechanic, and helped operate a salvage yard. He and Mary enjoyed dancing and visiting resale shops, and attended Clay City Christian Church and New Hope Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Hoffman of Flora; a son: Kenneth Hoffman of Redding, CA; a grandson: Justin; 2 step-sons: Kelly (Debbie) Dannells of Flora and Kevin Dannells of Flora; a brother: Kenneth Hoffman of Arizona; and a cousin: Darlene Hamilton of Flora. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and a sister.
