It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Krystal Marie Shroyer, who left this world on February 24, 2026, at just 41 years old.
Krystal lived boldly and authentically. She was fiercely honest, loyal to the core, and never afraid to speak her mind. If she loved you, you knew it. She didn’t pretend to be anything other than exactly who she was — strong, outspoken, protective, and deeply real.
She loved riding motorcycles, being outdoors, and connecting with people. A quick trip to the store often turned into a long conversation because she never met a stranger. During her time working at the VFW and The Village, she formed meaningful bonds and built friendships rooted in loyalty and respect.
Above all else, Krystal was a devoted and fiercely protective mother. Her children — Laith Edward Lee Harrington, Ryston Edward Christopher Scott, and Bradessa Jade Marie Scott — were her heart, her purpose, and her greatest pride. Everything she did she did with them in mind.
Krystal is survived by her mother, Peggy Jo Shroyer Leigh; her father who raised her, Marty Paul Leigh; her biological father, Michael Worstell; her partner, Scott Greenwood; and her stepson, Garrett.
She is also survived by her brothers, Jeremiah Leigh and Josh “Mo” Leigh and spouse Stormie, along with one niece and two nephews; her very special aunt, Kimberly Wehrmann (Worstell); her aunt, Shelley Shroyer Brooks and husband Brad; her uncles, Bill Shroyer and spouse Tammy, Charlie Shroyer, James Shroyer, and special uncle Travis Leigh; her dear friend, Samantha Cheri; and many cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William “Bucky” Shroyer and Geraldine Shroyer; her grandfathers, William “Tike” Leigh and Edward Lee Worstell; her great-grandmother, Mabel Grace Green Worstell; and her cousin, Brent Shroyer, who passed at the age of four.
Krystal leaves behind fierce love, stubborn strength, unforgettable honesty, and three beautiful children who will carry her spirit forward.
A Celebration of Krystal’s life will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Ron Payne officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
At a later date, family and friends will gather for a procession to Dillman Cemetery near Sailor Springs for a committal ceremony, with burial to follow. These details will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support Krystal’s children during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions may be directed to The Krystal Shroyer Children Benefit Fund at Louisville Banking Company, and these will also be accepted through the funeral home. A GoFundMe has also been established and can be accessed with the following link: https://gofund.me/c6f249f85. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com. We are so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all your family
I have been blessed to know this young lady. She was feisty, she was honest, she was a "I won't back down" kinda girl. She could control a bar like I have never seen and she probably weighed 115 lb at the most. A loyal friend and wonderful mother . Her smile was contagious and in the picture on her obituary..the sun is shining right through her. She was a ball of light and will always be...just above us in the sky now when we look up. Krystal, you have no idea how many lives you have touched. I love you and until we meet again. Fly high ❤️. Keep Shirley in line. Since you and her shared the same birthday....we will be watching the skys on June 19th.
My condolences to the family
Peggy, I didn't know your daughter, but I know you and I know you are hurting beyond the capacity to put into words because you grieve hard over the ones you've lost. I know Krystal had struggled with her health and that you're aura is pure love and protection of those you love. Your daughter will be with you forever. You will feel her presence in a gentle breeze and you'll see her in her children's eyes. You may not be able to physically touch her or hear her voice but she will be there in your dreams and always in your heart. Queen Elizabeth II said it best, "Grief is the price we pay for love."
Crystal fought this battle long and hard! She will no longer be in pain. Fly high Crystal, ur family are in my thoughts and prayers!
Floyd and I met Krystal in Effingham, both getting their therapy. As the obituary read she never met a stranger. She "took to" mu husband immediately because of his Vietnam cap. Before we parted, we had exchanged Facebook pages. I messaged her quite often, met again a couple times; once at her benefit. She came to Robinson when my husband passed away 9 months ago. Love and prayers to the family. She was a sweatheart❣️❤️

We know the unbearable pain you fought through so long to be here for your family. You were so independent that you didn't want any help. We're sending our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Krystal who know she won't be in pain anymore.
She was a bright and down to earth person, fly high girl 😔
Even though I only had the privilege of knowing Krystal for a short time, she left a lasting impression on my heart. Some people have a way of making their presence felt immediately, and Krystal was one of those rare souls. She was sweet, kind, genuinely funny, and there was something so interesting and warm about the way she carried herself that made people feel comfortable around her. It’s amazing how someone can touch your life so deeply in such a brief moment. Krystal’s kindness and spirit were the kind that linger with you long after the conversation ends. I feel grateful that our paths crossed, even if only for a little while. My heart goes out to her family and everyone who loved her. The world feels a little quieter without her in it, but the impression she left on those who met her will never fade. Rest peacefully, Krystal. You were truly one of a kind.
