Interment: Elmwood Cemetery
Visitation: 1 until 3 p.m. on Friday at the church
Cynthia Lynne Henson, age 64, of Flora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 31, 2026, at her home.
She was born June 14, 1962, in Olney, the daughter of Albert Dean and Bernice (Fehrenbacher) Klingler. She was united in marriage to Dale Henson on April 7, 1983, in Clay County, and together they shared 43 wedding anniversaries.
Cindy was a graduate of Clay City High School. She devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family and also cleaned homes for others. She attended New Beginnings Church in Flora. Cindy enjoyed music and dancing, quilting, cooking, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Cindy could always be counted on by those she loved. As a coach’s wife and the mother of two sons involved in many sports, she rarely missed a game and was always one of their most loyal supporters. Over the years, she became like a second mom to many of their friends and teammates.
Cindy also loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips were those spent at the beach with Dale and their closest friends, where they made many treasured memories together.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Henson of Flora; 2 sons, Matthew Henson of Flora and Clayton (Britt) Henson of Ninilchik, Alaska; 2 grandchildren, Bennett and Korie Henson; father, Dean Klingler of Wendelin; and siblings, Rick Klingler of Clay City, Debbie (Rick) Reed of Olney, and Randy Klingler of Clay City; and her best friend, Stacy (Les) Higgason of Flora.
She was preceded in passing by her mother, Bernice Klingler; and a sister, Sandra Moore.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at New Beginnings Church in Flora with Pastor Bobby McNeely officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Friday at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to either Clay County Cancer Crusaders or New Beginnings Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
