Memorial Visitation: 2 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home
Please note that this is scheduled for a week from this coming Saturday, on October 18th.
Mitzie Karen Harrison, age 77, of Ingraham, Illinois, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
She was born June 18, 1948, in Olney, the daughter of Clarence and Velma (West) Ahlfield. She was united in marriage to Jay D. Harrison on July 12, 1986, in Princeton, Kentucky, and together they have shared 39 wedding anniversaries.
She had worked for Dishong Chiropractic Clinic in Olney, operated Mitzie’s Salon in Clay City, and later retired from Hella Electronics in Flora. An animal lover, she especially enjoyed time with her three dogs—Daisy, Freddie, and Barney. Mitzie found joy in the outdoors and in life’s simple pleasures. She loved paddle boating at the lake, relaxing by the pool, and taking cruises with her daughter and granddaughter. Beachcombing for seashells along the shore was a favorite hobby during her many trips to the ocean. An accomplished bow hunter, Mitzie was proud to qualify for the International Bowhunting Organization’s World Championship in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband: Jay D. Harrison of Ingraham; daughter: Misty Leist of Wendelin; stepson: A.J. Harrison of Alachua, Florida; grandchildren: Triston (Elizabeth) Harrison of Spring Valley, Ohio, Mika Harrison of Savannah, Georgia, Austin Mulkey of Wendelin, and Lacee Mulkey of Dieterich; great-grandchildren: Ezra Harrison of Spring Valley, Ohio and Everleigh Thomas of Dieterich.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; a stepdaughter: Mickie Harrison; a brother: Frank Ahlfield; and a niece: Amy Leaf.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
