William H. “Bill” White, age 84, of Flora, IL passed away at 12:04 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora.

Bill was born on September 9, 1928 in Olney, IL to Roy E. and Alice (Chasteen) White. He married Carolyn S. Wright on November 10, 1972 in Springfield, MO. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Bronze Star Medal. After Bill’s retirement from the Union Pacific Railroad, he was able to spend all of his time pursuing his passion for raising standard bred horses. He was a member of U.S.T.A. and I.H.H.A. for many years and was raised in the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn White of Flora; 3 sisters-in-law: Linda (John) Hines of Anna, Ginger Tyndall of Capella, TX, and Shelby Stone of Phoenix, AZ; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private arrangements will be conducted for Bill White. Memorial donations may be made to Carolyn to assist with expenses. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
