Peggy L. Carder, age 80, of Litchfield, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care in Hillsboro.

      She was born March 25, 1946, in Flora, the daughter of Charles and Thelma (Guinn) Goings.  She married Floyd W. Carder on December 26, 1964, in Sailor Springs, IL. 

      She was an antique store attendant.  Peggy enjoyed refinishing old furniture, visiting Las Vegas, and spending time with her family. 

      She is survived by her spouse: Floyd W. Carder; 2 daughters: Lesley D. Lineback and Shelly R. Stokes; 5 grandchildren: Brady Stokes, Ashley Lineback, T.J. Stokes, Drake Lineback, and Colby Stokes; 3 great-grandchildren: Harlo Stokes, Knox Lineback, and Mack Lineback; and 2 sisters: Alice Casolari and Ina Ray. 

      Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters: Frances Young and Jo Ann Laycoax. 

      A memorial ceremony will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.  A luncheon will be hosted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Clay City Fellowship Church fellowship hall.  Memorial donations are suggested to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and these will be accepted at the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
