Michael Lawrence Norris, age 68, of Sailor Springs, Illinois, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 11, 2025, at Franklin County Hospital in Benton.
He was born November 10, 1957, in Champaign, the son of Robert and Patricia (Hall) Norris. He was united in marriage to Linda Jane Payne on August 18, 1978, at the Clay City Baptist Church and together they have shared 47 wedding anniversaries.
Mike who was also known to many as “Spike” worked for RWCI in Flora, and later retired from Cash Equipment Sales and Rentals in Effingham. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, tinkering in the garage, and attending his granddaughters’ activities.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Norris of Sailor Springs; children: Jessica (Heath) Ross of Flora and Noah Norris of Sailor Springs; grandchildren: Riley Ross of Flora and Lexi Ross of Flora; siblings: Patsy Prosser of Salem, Teresa (Roy) Schoiber of Sailor Springs, Kim (Albert) Payne of Sailor Springs, and Tom (Erin) Norris of Sailor Springs; several nieces and nephews; an aunt: Shelby Bryant of Champaign; mother-in-law: Norma Payne of Sailor Springs; brother-in-law: Delbert Dean (Mary) Payne of Sumner; and a sister-in-law: Brenda (Rodney) Lynn of Clay City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law: Gerald Prosser; father-in-law: Delbert “Sonny” Payne; and several aunts and uncles.
Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to Fur a Good Paws, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com

Linda,Jessica and Noah, and family your all in my thoughts at this hard time..Mike was a great guy knowing him since he dated Linda in HS. He always had a smile when I saw him and how he kept the vehicles looking great..He will be missed.
