Margaret “May” Henderson, age 80, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at Axiom Healthcare of Flora.

      She was born April 11, 1945, in Washington, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hamilton) Huey.  She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Allen Henderson on April 13, 1962, in Fairfield, and together they shared 36 wedding anniversaries until his passing on July 2, 1998.

      May had worked at Minwax and Martin Printing.  Her happiest moments were spent outdoors with Bob—deer hunting, riding and showing horses, camping, or canoeing.  At home, she loved quilting, reading, coloring, and sewing, and she was always ready with a needle and thread to mend her family’s clothing.

      She is survived by her daughter: Betty Carter of Flora; 3 grandchildren: Jamie Cosner of Flora, Shayne (Heather) Cosner of Flora, and Dakota Cosner of Flora; 2 step-grandsons: Jeremy Carter of Fairfield and Jarrod (Ginny) Carter of Fairfield; great-grandchildren: Rhyver Cosner, Cayne Adams, Blaze Cosner, Bryar Willis, Ethan Cosner, Garrett Cosner, Draven Wilson, Serenity Cosner, Libertee Cosner, Talon Cosner, Harmony Cosner, Jaxon Cosner, Miayah Cosner, Tiegan Cosner, Kaylee Carter, Kaidence Carter, and Jaidyn Carter; great-great-grandchildren: Jace Cosner, Colten Cosner, Karsyn Cosner, Eden Cosner, and Gage Frost; and siblings: David (Paula) Huey of Flora, Juanita Burgess of Flora, and Brenda (Carl) Patrick of Flora.

      She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband: Bob Henderson; brother: Paul Calvin Huey; a great-granddaughter: Rozzalynn Kate Carter; and son-in-law: Vernon Carter.
