Nancy Ann Travis, age 82, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday morning, August 4, 2025, at her home.

      She was born November 2, 1942, in Flora, the daughter of Frank K. and Orpha Jewell (Miller) Stanford.  She was united in marriage to George Lee Travis on September 29, 1962, at the Harmony United Methodist Church in Flora and together they shared 55 wedding anniversaries until his passing on April 18, 2018.

      Nancy worked as an administrative assistant for Bendix, a prominent manufacturer of automotive and aerospace components in South Florida, and later for Clay County Industries in Flora.  She gave back to her community through her involvement in the Clay County Cancer Support Group and was a faithful member of the Flora First United Methodist Church.  Nancy enjoyed time spent crafting and tending to her garden. 

      She is survived by her daughter: Angela Beth Scara of Flora; 3 grandchildren: Jacob Vincent Scara of Atlanta, Georgia, Jessica Ann Scara of Flora, and Jewell Beth Scara of Flora; 2 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Jade and Knox Lee; and 2 sisters: Barbara (Phil) Poe of Centralia and Jane (Don) Delaney of Flora.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Judith (Robert “Satch”) Briscoe.

      A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Flora First Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be given to either Clay County Cancer Support Group or Clay County Hospice.  Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
