Jerry L. Uebinger

veteranJan 14th, 1944 - Dec 27th, 2024

This is a courtesy obituary placement.

Jerome L. "Jerry" Uebinger, son of Phillip and Mary (Seiler) Uebinger, was born January 14, 1944, in Ingraham, Illinois and departed this life December 27, 2024, at his home in Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of eighty years.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country for several years. He worked in the oil field for a time before transitioning to a truck driver. Upon his move to Eldridge, Missouri, he became a mechanic for Waste Management Company in Lebanon. Most recently, he was a truck driver for MFA, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was respected by his co-workers and employers. He developed wonderful friendships with each of them.

Jerry was a people person and according to his family, could talk to anyone. He lived on the philosophy that there were no strangers, just friends he hadn't met yet. He spent every morning at coffee at Rock Ridge Country Store, with his closest friends. They became his second family.

Once retired, Jerry enjoyed yard work, especially riding his mower. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was a jack of all trades, possibly a master of none, but he always made things work and there wasn't a piece of heavy equipment he couldn't operate. However, of all the things he loved about this life, his family was his most treasured accomplishment. He loved them deeply.

Jerry is survived by three daughters, Cassie Uebinger, Stephanie Milhoan (Howard) and Angela Rella; siblings, Fred Uebinger (Madonna), Art Uebinger (Terri), Ed Uebinger (Karen) and Jane Wingert (Mark); grandchildren, Robert Uebinger, Ashley Walton, McKenzie Callahan, Jessica Walton and Makayla Rella; two sons, David Ferguson (Penny) and Ron Ferguson (Cynthia); David's children, Jayme Hanger, Dylan Hanger, Harley Ferguson and BJ Ferguson; and Ron's daughter, Tess Massey; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and countless friends.

Those preceding him in death include his parents; two sisters, Una Kocher and Doris Muhs; his first wife, Judith A; and second wife, Judith S.

Jerry will be forever missed by all whose lives he touched.

There will be a Celebration of Life visitation for Jerry at The T.J. & DeLores Shadel Family Center (located in the building behind Shadel’s Colonial Chapel) on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 1-4 p.m.  At his request, his body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.  Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, MO 65536.

In Illinois, a Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Holy Cross Church Parish Center in Wendelin, located at 5782 Ingraham Lane Newton, Illinois, 62448.

Private interment will take place at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.
