Charles Brett Williams, age 65, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024.
He was born October 7, 1958, in Flora, the son of Jack and Opal (Pruitt) Williams.
Brett had been employed at Peerless of America in Effingham. He enjoyed playing pool, reading, listening to music, and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Brett will be remembered for his kindness.
He is survived by his 3 children: Brooke Williams of Champaign, Dustin (Jennifer) Williams of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Megan (Cameron) Mays of Louisville; 5 grandchildren: Trevin Milner of Flora, Noah Plemons of Champaign, Elizabeth Plemons of Champaign, Skylar Brummer of Vandalia, and Lily Ray-Williams of Vandalia; 1 great-grandchild: Rowan Milner of Flora; and 2 brothers: Jack Williams and Dan Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Many laughs shared with Brett in high school and just goofing off in general. A kind, sweet soul is gone from this earth. Fly high Brett!!!

So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed playing football with Brett. The best was sharing a class with him with Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Sailor. Never a dull moment. He made the the classes bearable.
I feel blessed I was able to have Brett in my life through our Flora High School days and of course Flora High School. He had the biggest heart and was never mean to anyone nor asked for help. Till we meet again my good friend 🧡 , you fly high my friend and I know your Mom and Dad were waiting there for you with open arms. You will be missed.
