Kerry Nate Bray, age 65, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Thursday morning, May 25, 2023, at Clay County Hospital.
He was born August 15, 1957, in Champaign, the son of Darwin Monroe and Betty Lindell (Hargrave) Bray Sr.
Kerry had worked for Oskaloosa Township, Xenia Manufacturing, and most recently had done maintenance and janitorial work for Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan. Kerry enjoyed watching trains, listening to country and bluegrass music, and spending time on the porch watching the birds with Billie.
He is survived by his daughter: Brenda Colclasure (Dale Stockon) of Flora; 2 brothers: Darwin (Paulette) Monroe Bray Jr. and Harley Leon Bray of Flora; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a sister: Linda Rolston; significant other: Billie Colclasure; and 2 uncles: Nate Bray and Francis Bray.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date with interment in Oskaloosa Cemetery. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Harley and family-- My prayers and thoughts are with you in this difficult time. I pray God gives you comfort.
I went to Oskaloosa School with Kerry. He was a great guy and a hard worker. Prayers for his family.
I remember many great times with Kerry when we would go down south. We played with trucks under the big tree in the side yard, walked the tracks, ran to the trestle to watch the trains and listened to the stories our elders told at Grandma’s place. Those were simple times. I always enjoyed hanging out with him when we were young. He had a gentle kindness about him. RIP Kerry Nate.

I loved Kerry. He was a great cousin. He help my brother learn to farm. We will all three ( our sister Vicki DuBray) miss him very much.
