Erma Dean Tognoni, age 86, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Clay County Hospital. 

        She was born June 5, 1936, in Jadwin, Missouri, the daughter of J. Monroe and Clara Marie (Quick) Prater.  She was united in marriage to Charles Boyd Tognoni on June 5, 1956, and together they shared 38 wedding anniversaries until his death January 13, 1995.

        Erma was a homemaker.  She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

        She is survived by her children: Charlotte Dean Tognoni of Louisville and Charles B. (Cathy) Tognoni of St. Louis, Missouri; a grandson: Tommy; and siblings: John Prater, Imagean (the late Tom) Hodges, Evelyn (Leon) Lane, Doris Ross, Malinda (Cecil) Henson, and Karen (Liam) Bourke.

        She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 2 brothers: Eugene Prater and Manuel Prater.

        A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri.  Those attending are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery.  Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
