Tammy Lynn Petty, age 50, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday morning, November 25, 2022, at her home.
She was born January 18, 1972, in Dade City, Florida, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ruth (Pelfrey) Hoard. She was united in marriage to Scott Petty on December 9, 2015, in Louisville and together they shared almost 7 years of marriage.
Tammy was a longtime bartender at the Flora VFW Post #3999 where she was also a member of the Auxiliary. She was a devoted grandmother and dog-mom, and she enjoyed traveling with her husband Scott.
She is survived by her husband: Scott Petty of Flora; parents: Charles and Mary Ruth Hoard of Clay City; daughters: Elizabeth Ruth (Dylan) Sill of Iuka, Emily (Clayton) Plumlee of Flora, Courtney (Bryce) Kapper of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Makayla Petty of Flora; grandchildren: Logan and Lucas Sill of Iuka, and Henry Plumlee of Flora; siblings: Margaret (William) Butler of Flora, Laura (Joseph) Yates of Flora, Mike (Joyce) Watson of Clay City and Lucinda (Hank) Wiegel of Louisville.

I'm so sorry to the family. She was an amazing person and the best friend I could ask for. No matter how much time went by with us not seeing each other,when we did it was like no time had passed at all. She touched so many people's lives. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family. I remember meeting you for the first time in 5th grade I knew immediately you were one of a kind & we would be friends! I attended your first wedding & came to meet your beautiful daughter Elizabeth but life happened & we drifted apart ! I loved Tammy. She was a girl that took no crap from anyone, but if you were her friend she would always be there. She sure will be missed.
