Ernest “Ernie” J. Ferguson, age 60, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday night, February 10, 2022, at his home.

     He was born April 15, 1961, in Flora, Illinois, the son of Jerry Lee and Shirley Mae (Treadman) Ferguson.

     Ernie was a Union Laborer working on many projects over the years.  He enjoyed being outdoors and time spent fishing, working on cars and motorcycles, and good times with friends.  He always wanted to help others when he could. 

     He is survived by his 4 children: Jeremiah Ferguson (Brittany) of Flora, Joshua Ferguson of Xenia, Jessica Tracy (Jamie) of Lawrenceville, and James Ernest Ferguson; 4 grandchildren: Evelyn and Violet Elledge, and Dimitri and Annabelle Ferguson; siblings: Jerry Lee Ferguson Jr. (Liz) of Iuka, Kenneth Ferguson (Sandra) of Iuka, Jeffrey Ferguson (Sandy) of St. Joseph, Michigan, and Robert Sherman of Flora; stepmother: Louise Eckelberry; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Larry Coggin of Flora, and Daryle Frye of Tullahoma, Tennessee.

     He was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Lee Ferguson; mother: Shirley Ferguson; and stepfather: Johnny Sherman.
