Gloria was my telephone friend. I became acquainted with her through my sister Pat, who had Gloria as a student when she taught in Flora. Gloria and I would often have lengthy phone conversations with each other. Being homebound she would share her struggles and concerns for friends and relatives. She would often pray for members of our family, me included, and I would pray for her. Gloria's passion was to lead people to Christ. I was amazed as she humbly shared the fruit of sharing the Good News to doctors, nurses, and others whom she came across in the medical clinics and hospitals she frequented. Several would say the same phrase... "I want what you have." Then Gloria would gather them together, often several at a time, and lead them in the salvation message. Some told hers she 'glowed." I shared her accounts with my friends, who often asked for updates on Gloria's 'miracles'. They too were saddened when they learned she had passed away. Gloria is going to be amazed how many people were touched through her witnessing and prayers. I never got to meet Gloria in person and look forward to seeing her in heaven.

What a wonderful Christian friend whose life was dedicated to the Lord. There are many people, even doctors and nurses in the several hospitals where Gloria has been over the years and most recently last several months, who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior because of her willingness to testify of His Saving Grace. Doctors told her "I want what you have, Gloria." One nurse averted the decision to have an abortion after talking and praying with Gloria. Later that evening her husband came to pray with her. There are so many other incidences of answered prayer and Salvation not just in the hospitals and nursing homes that she shared with me in person and on the phone. Gloria, herself, has had many miraculous healings and this time God said, "It's time to come Home, Gloria." I was pleased to hear that Gloria's cousin, David Bonham (pastor and author) whom she dearly loved will be giving the funeral sermon.
