Anthony “Tony” Wayne Anderson, age 55, of Farina, Illinois, passed away on Thursday evening, January 1, 2026, at Clay County Hospital.

      He was born April 30, 1970, in Flora, the son of Jack W. and Shirley L. (Gill) Anderson.  He was united in marriage to Kimberly G. Clark on February 19, 1999, in Iola, and together they have shared 26 wedding anniversaries.

      Tony had worked for Hout farms and Bailey farms.  He had been a member of the Xenia Volunteer Fire Department and also an EMT.  He was most at home outdoors, spending his time fishing, deer and coyote hunting, and mushroom hunting.  In the past Tony had always enjoyed visiting with friends while attending local wrestling events and races at Clay County Speedway and Brownstown Bullring.

      He is survived by his wife: Kim Anderson of Farina; children: Jonathon (Brittany) Anderson of Effingham, Miranda Anderson (Mike Schmieder) of Effingham, and Allen (Baileigh) Anderson of Flora; step-children: Joseph Smith and Courtney Smith, both of Haltom City, Texas; grandchildren: Gracyn Anderson of Brownstown, Hunter Adler of Brownstown, Hayden Schmieder of Effingham, and Emma Tuttle of Effingham; his father: Jack W. Anderson of Xenia; a sister: Stacy (Darrell) Smith of Xenia; 2 nephews: Grant (Quintine) Smith of Xenia and Seth Smith of Chicago; and his beloved dog, Suzzy.

      He was preceded in passing by his mother: Shirley Anderson; paternal grandparents: Lowell and Pauline Anderson; and maternal grandparents: Edward “Pete” and Joyce Gill and Lou Ellen and Rex Garrett.
