Arthur R. Hinman, age 84, of Warrenton, Missouri, and formerly of Flora, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 7, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

      He was born August 12, 1941, in Flora, the son of Thourl Carroll and Dorothy Olive (Williams) Hinman.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Behnke on September 17, 1961, in Iuka, and together they shared 39 wedding anniversaries until her passing on January 24, 2001.

      He graduated from Flora High School and later from the Bradley University School of Watchmaking in Peoria, Illinois.  He also attended Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois.  Following his graduation from watchmaking school, he opened his own jewelry store in Cisne.  He went on to enjoy a longtime career as a industrial engineer.  In later years, he opened the Timekeepers Clock Shop alongside his daughter and son. In retirement, he found great enjoyment in working on model trains, creating ink portraits, completing puzzles, and pursuing his love of history and genealogy.

      He is survived by a son: Scott (Sally) Hinman; a daughter: Marcia (Timothy) Cappuccio; grandchildren: Kelsey Hinman, Krista Hinman, Matt (Taylor) Cappuccio, and Marissa (Tyler) Lamphiere; great-grandchildren: Marlee, Maizie, Avery, and Dakota; and a sister: Carolyn Callis.

      He was preceded in passing by his parents and his wife, Barbara.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Ron Payne officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.  A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Clay County Genealogical Society, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
