JoAnn McCann, age 87, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
She was born January 23, 1938, in Wayne County, the daughter of Burl and Margaret (Evans) Harrell. She was united in marriage to Marvin J. McCann on December 11, 1954, at Blue Point Church, and they were blessed to share 70 wedding anniversaries.
JoAnn served as the secretary and treasurer for Willow Branch Cemetery. She enjoyed playing cards, sudoku, and computer puzzle games, and she loved working on jigsaw puzzles. She also took great pleasure in gardening and tending her flowers, traveling, and—above all—devoting herself to her family, always treasuring every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her husband: Marvin McCann of Flora; 2 daughters: Karen (John) Forth of Flora and Lori (Jeff) Nolte of Belleville; 3 grandchildren: Eric Forth of Flora, Kady (Justin) Krones of Imperial, Missouri, and Tanner Nolte of Belleville; 2 sisters-in-law: Wanda Harrell and Betty Harrell; and a brother-in-law: Richard “Dick” (Wanda) McCann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Cliff Harrell, Don Harrell, Junior “Burl” Harrell, Edward Harrell, and Darrell Harrell; a sister: Barbara McGrew-Young; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Tom and Sophia McCann.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Ernie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
