Private interment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield
Nola Ruth Emmett, age 96, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
Ruth was born March 12, 1929, in Xenia, daughter of the late Hugh and Dicy (Cunningham) Cornwell.
She married Manuel H. Emmett. He passed away in 1989.
After spending many years living and working in Springfield, Ruth retired from a career with the State of Illinois.
She is survived by her friends, Charolette Pride and Linda (husband Pat) Blanton, all of Xenia.

Hugh and Dicy were friends of my parents, Bernice and Wanda King. I remember visiting them when I was a little girl. Prayers for the family.
Ruthie was a great friend of mine and my wife Bonnie. We used to go dancing with Ruth and Emmett every weekend. They came to our house quite a bit. I've been trying to get in touch with Ruthie for 5 years. No one ever answered her phone. Such a good friend.
