Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora

Essa Rollen, age 82, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, June 7, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born February 18, 1938, and was a resident of Natchez Trace CILA Home in Flora.
Essa enjoyed watching television, rocking in her rocking chair, and putting puzzles together. She was always interested in playing games with others and liked to play catch, bowling, and outside yard games. She liked community activities and outings such as going to get her hair and nails done and going for a ride in the van to town. She enjoyed going to work at Clay County Rehabilitation Center and going to church on Sundays. She was easy to get along with and had many friends both at home and at work. She will be deeply missed by the staff, her housemates, and all her friends that were like family to her.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Bruce Horsley officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. To share a memory or condolence visit: www.frankandbright.com

Essa was a sweet lady who always had a smile for everyone. Not only did she have a loving personality but she also possessed a beautiful singing voice. Heaven gained another angel❣️ RIP Essa
Essa was A very sweet lady and she was very helpful she love the Lord with all of her heart and she was a very beautiful singer I'm glad I got the chance to help Essa in the early 90s.She is now singing beautiful in heavens choir she will be missed

Loved Miss Essa, she was a sweetheart. I was fortunate to be part of her family for over twenty years at Prairie Estates. She was part of my family Thanksgiving celebrations several years at my mother's and we always appreciated her sharing the blessing and giving thanks to start our meals. She loved the Lord and singing praises to Him in church and Bible classes at home. Rest in peace...you have earned your reward in Heaven.
Essa was a delight and could light up any room....a kind and gracious soul. My sincere condolences to her friends and family.
I always loved seeing Essa. She was always so happy and brightened my day. She will be missed.

We attended church with Essa for over thirty years. She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Asked what she would like to sing, her quick reply was "Amazing Grace". I'm sure she's singing it with the angels right now!
Oh Essa Lee! I’m so sad to hear that your gone. But I am happy that you’ve been able to see Jesus face to face. I know you hugged him so right and I know you sang him one of your beautiful songs. You were blessed with a beautiful singing voice and I loved when you sang! Especially your favorite song “Slow Poke” I’m so blessed to have known you for so many years, save a place for me darling, Much love and many hugs pretty lady! ❤️
I attended church many times with Ms Essa. She was always smiling and happy and could be heard singing the hymns with joy. She was a true blessing during the services
I have known Essa for over 30 years and never saw her without a smlle on her face and a song in her heart. She will be sadly missed and everytime I sing Amazing Grace I will send it up to her.
Essa I will always remember you as a kind lady to everyone. You always had a smile on your face. You are a precious Angel in heaven now.
