A high school English and Spanish teacher of 34 years, Ms. Eddings was a graduate of Salem Community High School and Southern Illinois University. She taught briefly in Puerto Rico and in the Illinois schools of Windsor, Lincoln, and Clay City. Much of her 24 years at Clay City High School was dedicated to students outside the classroom as an advisor to the school newspaper, yearbook and theater programs.      Ms. Eddings was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Grace (Eddings) Allmon, and her precious dog Chrissy.

Her funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 8 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Flora with Pastor David Starr officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 11am to 2pm Saturday at the church. Graveside will follow the funeral at Iuka Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Flora Public Library (florapubliclibrary.org) and The Humane Society of the United States (humanesociety.org).

I remember this lady well -was my Spanish teacher at Clay City high school. Always a sweet smile. First day we walked into her classroom she taught us a Spanish phrase that at the time I thought I'll never get that. To this day I remember it.
