James “Jim” Keith Ballard, age 76, of Fairfield, Illinois, passed away in Springfield, Illinois, on September 30, 2016.

   Jim was born August 10, 1940, in Flora, the son of Alva and Bernice (Anderson) Ballard, who preceded him in death.  He married Linda F. Venters of Fairfield, on March 21, 1959.

   Jim attended Flora High School, Class of 1958, and was a machinist most of his life.  He enjoyed fishing all his life, and trail riding in his younger days.

   Jim is survived by one son: James K. Ballard, Jr. of Orlando, Florida; one daughter: Debra L. (John) Rice of Apopka, Florida; one sister: Jane (Gary) Lear of Springfield; two grandchildren: Krisimberly (Christopher) Lee and Daniel Stephens, both of Longview, Texas; three great-grandsons: Mason Wright, Noah Lee, and Christian Lee of Longview, Texas; two nieces and several cousins.

   Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at the Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery in Flora.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association.  Visit www.frankandbright.com to share a condolence with the family.
