Calvin Loyd Busby, age 75, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

      He was born June 7, 1951, the son of Melvin Loyd and Theda Alene (Jones) Busby.  He married Tina Louise Rinehart on May 7, 1993, and together they shared 24 wonderful years before her passing on December 23, 2017. 

      Calvin had worked at Imperial Components in St. Charles, building roof trusses, as well as at an Amish lumber yard in Arthur. He was a loving man who would do anything to see his family smile. He and Tina always kept a spot at the table for anyone who dropped in to visit. He enjoyed gardening and especially liked planting red flowers. He would often build shelves, benches, and other woodworking crafts as gifts for his family, and several of those pieces are still in their homes. Calvin was an avid Chicago sports fan, following the Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, White Sox, and Cubs, and if a game was on, he would take over the television. He also enjoyed playing computer games and watching wrestling.

      Calvin is survived by his daughter: Amber Busby of Peoria; son: Josh Busby of Indiana; 3 grandchildren: Ethan Busby of Peoria, and Courtney and Lila DePriest, both of Indiana; daughter-in-law: Jen DePriest of Indiana; 2 sisters: Judy (Junior) Mannella of St. Charles and Janet Watson of Xenia; 2 sisters-in-law: Diane Pope of Aurora and Connie Busby of Sycamore; 4 brothers-in-law: Charles West of Xenia, Daniel Rinehart of Cadiz, Kentucky, James Rinehart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and John Rinehart of Coralville, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

      He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife; son: Tyler Busby; sister: Phyllis West; 2 brothers: David and Donnie Busby; father-in-law: Robert Rinehart Sr.; mother-in-law: Rita Stickel; maternal grandparents: Opal and Minnie Jones; paternal grandparents: Frank and Alice Busby; brother-in-law: Robert Rinehart Jr.; sister-in-law: Kathleen McConnell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

      A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Oddfellows Cemetery in Xenia, with Rev.
