Lenore A. “Ellie” Garrison, age 69, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

      She was born February 18, 1957, in Clarksburg, West Virginia.  On January 17, 1976, Ellie married Robert Dean Garrison in Fairfield, and they enjoyed 32 years of marriage.  Robert passed away February 24, 2008.

      Ellie dedicated 32 years to working at North American Lighting in Flora. She cared deeply for her family and held an enduring love for her sons and grandchildren. Her friends became an extended part of that family, and they fondly remember her spirited personality, quick wit, and the many good conversations they shared over the years. Ellie enjoyed browsing yard sales, listening to country music, and spending countless hours working on her “Paint by Diamonds” projects, which brought her great joy and relaxation and created a sparkling collection of art that will always bring happy memories and smiles to her family.

      Ellie is survived by 2 sons: Raymond (Alicia) Garrison of Flora and Timothy (Jeffery) Garrison Reece of Jackson, Missouri; 10 grandchildren: Austin (Caitlin) Garrison, Tucker (Courtney) Garrison, Alexander (Hailey) Garrison, Bobby Garrison, Jimmy Garrison, Jonathan Garrison, Tyler Guinn, Christian Garrison, Jaden Garrison, and Kylie Garrison; 10 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law: Cindi Garrison.  She is also survived by 8 siblings: Hartzel Cottrill, Judy Sims, Mike (Genny) Cottrill, Mary (David) Kimmel, Harold Cottrill, Wanda (Jason) Ehrhart, Ronnie (Heather) Lee, and Sam (Carla) Lee.

      She was preceded in passing by her husband; father: Raymond Glen Cottrill; mother: Loretta Jean (Johnson) Lee; stepfather: Sam Lee; son: Robert B. Garrison; grandson: Damon Garrison; and 2 brothers: Dennis Lee and H.G. Lee. 

      A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Mark Luzadder officiating.  Interment will follow in Pin Oak Cemetery in Wayne County.  A visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to assist the family with final expenses, and these will be accepted by the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
