Waylen Ray Hunt, age 55, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, January 21, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 16, 1969, in Flora, the son of Farrell Ray and Karen Sue (LaFever) Hunt. He was united in marriage to Teresa Ann Hemphill on March 27, 1991, and together they have shared 33 years of wonderful memories.
Waylen dedicated his time to Hamilton Repair and Jeff’s Automotive, helping Kim with various jobs. He had a deep appreciation for Chevy trucks and classic cars and was an avid enthusiast of classic rock music.
He is survived by his wife: Teresa Hunt of Cisne; his children: Chris Hunt (Victoria Bates) of Effingham, Mercedes (Zach) Koester of Effingham, Dakota Hunt of Flora, and Coulten Hunt of Cisne; 3 grandchildren: Paisley Persinger of Effingham, Kolson Koester of Effingham, and Kayson Hunt of Flora; siblings: Wendy Neighbors of Vincennes, Indiana, Stacey Mays of Olney, Katie VonGunten of Tennessee, and Ethan Hunt of Flora; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Tammy Hunt.
There will be no services. Private interment will take place in Rusk Cemetery. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. So sorry to hear of his passing. We played softball when I was growing up and he was a good when we played. Always saying he was the next Ozzie Smith. He will be missed. God be with you all in this time of need.
