Interment: Elmwood Cemetery
Visitation: 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home
Dale Nicholson, age 49, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022.
He was born February 24, 1973, in Olney, the son of Jerry Nicholson and Susan (Hilliard) Sanders.
Dale worked as an area plumber and did his apprenticeship under Bill O’Dell which later led him to starting Nicholson Plumbing. He enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing, mushroom and deer hunting, camping, and participating in washer tournaments. He was an avid St. Louis Blues Hockey fan and enjoyed growing his baseball card collection and playing ping-pong. Dale had an inability to say no and will be remembered for his kindhearted spirit, always willing to help anyone in need. He was a member of the Flora Moose Lodge 1384, Flora Eagles Lodge 2494, and Flora American Legion Post 14.
He is survived by his son: Braden Nicholson of Claremont; mother: Susan (Ed) Sanders of Newton; father: Jerry (Dottie) Nicholson of Xenia; brother: John (Carla) Nicholson of Iuka; nephews: Kyle Nicholson of Des Plaines and Trevor Nicholson of Charleston; uncle: Mark (Debbie) Hilliard of Flora; and special friends: Rick and Trish McGrew.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Braden Nicholson to help with educational expenses.
