Harold Dean Peterson, age 48, of Casey, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, as the result of an accident in Montgomery County, Illinois.
He was born July 20, 1972, in Clay County, Illinois. Harold married Ashley Beatty on December 16, 2000.
Harold was a loving husband and dad. He became a truck driver 5 years ago, which was a career he had always hoped to pursue.
He is survived by his wife: Ashley Peterson; a son: Dakota Peterson; 2 daughters: Jada Peterson and Brinna Peterson; his mother: Rose Peterson; 2 brothers: John (Eula) Simpkins and Charles Peterson; as well as extended family members.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to assist the family with expenses and will be accepted by the funeral home. I work for Hixson Lumber sales in Hillsboro, I talked to Harold every week. Harold was a great guy, he always was dependable and did a great job hauling for us! I am going to miss him very much! Prayers for all of your family

Sorry for your loss , I was an old friend of harolds and also attended the same trucking school in Mattoon,Illinois. I never knew whether he passed and became a trucker but I figured he did. I drove across country throughout 48 states and the roads were very dangerous. After a few close calls I decided to give it up, then I found out I had Cancer . I made it through the treatment and I have a couple years to wait to see if the cancer returns . My condolences to the family.
