Stephanie Renee Lewis, age 36, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
She was born June 8, 1990, in Flora, the daughter of Herbert E. and Sharon D. (Clark) Lewis.
A 2008 graduate of Flora High School, Stephanie went on to enlist in the Illinois Army National Guard as a human resources specialist, completing her basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She later worked for Caterpillar in Decatur and was most recently employed at North American Lighting in Flora.
Stephanie enjoyed spending time with friends and was always willing to join in on family adventures, even when it meant stepping outside her comfort zone. A true daddy’s girl, she shared a special bond with her dad, Herbie, and especially enjoyed working alongside him on building projects and whatever else they could create together. She was a talented artist who loved drawing and painting. Simple outings, including trips to Walmart with her sister, Josie, and visits with her nephew, Spencer, brought her happiness.
Stephanie had a giggle that lit up her whole face. Her heart was as big as her smile, and she went out of her way to make sure everyone felt included and was having a good time. She never forgot a friend and could pick up right where they had left off, no matter how long it had been since they last spoke.
Her faith was a source of strength throughout her life, and she enjoyed attending church. During her younger years, she attended Calvary Baptist Church and often spoke about her relationship with Christ.
She is survived by her father: Herbie (Annie) Lewis of Flora; mother: Sharon Clark (James Coulston) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; siblings: Daniel (April) Green of Flora, Dustin Lewis of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Paul (Tabby) Green of Flora, Josie (Alex) McIntosh of Flora, Christopher Ferguson of Carterville, Kyle Lewis of Claremont, Tiffany (Christopher) Henley of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Kirby (Emily) Coble of Flora, and Parker Coble of Flora; a special nephew: Spencer McIntosh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in passing by her paternal grandparents: Gary Wayne and Vivian Sue Lewis; maternal grandparents: Bud Clark and Dorothy Buckner; several aunts and uncles; and a brother-in-law: Tim Bell.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Bloom Cemetery with the presentation of military funeral honors.
