Bud Edwards
Aug 3rd, 1949 - Jun 25th, 2023Asa Alan “Bud” Edwards, age 73, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 25, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville.
He was born August 3, 1949, in Danville, the son of Asa Albert and Melvina Ann (Peelman) Edwards.
Bud served in the Marines from 1969-1975 including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He enjoyed working on various electrical projects and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Bud drove a charter bus for J.D. Transit in Cowden and was a semi driver for several companies including Swift Transportation, Crete Carrier Corporation, and U.S. Express Trucking Company. He was most recently a public transportation bus driver for Central Illinois Public Transit.
He is survived by his ex-wife: Deanita Edwards; a daughter: Jennifer Lewis; a son: Curtis Edwards; mother: Melvina Edwards; 3 grandchildren: Joselyn Lewis, Amber Lewis, and Cole Edwards; 2 brothers: Michael (Diana) Edwards and David Edwards; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening, July 7, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with the presentation of military funeral honors to begin at 5 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
