Fred Randall

      Freddie Ray Randall, age 83, of Flora, Illinois, passed away on Sunday morning, June 11, 2023, at the home of his daughter.

      He was born June 25, 1939, in Xenia, the son of Arthur Tom and Kathryn (Gahan) Randall.  He was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Barton during a ceremony at First Christian Church in Flora on March 9, 1959.  Together they shared 58 wedding anniversaries until her death January 17, 2018.

      Fred was a 1957 graduate of Flora Township High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 7, 1957, and served in Cuba and Turkey before being honorably discharged on October 6, 1961.  He later worked for several area companies including the International Shoe Company, Halliburton, NAL, and Fedders.  Fred also co-founded Randall Electric Heating & Air, working with the company from 1976-1987.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

      He is survived by 4 children: Tony (Janice) Randall of Flora, Cynthia (Tim) Enyart of Flora, Rhonda (Steve) Buxton of Olney, and Crystal (Sean) Miller of Flora; 10 grandchildren: Heather (Michael) Hale, Bryan (Carrie) Enyart, Jennifer Hargis, Melissa (Johnnie) Baker, Amber (Bobby) Borton, Mariah (Timmy) Boldrey, Logan Harris, Cierra (Aaron) Foerster, Brayanna Hargraves, and Jarred Hargraves; 2 step-grandchildren: Steve (Kaylee) Buxton and Dane Buxton; 26 great-grandchildren with another on the way; and a great-great-grandchild on the way.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a granddaughter: Stephanie Harris; a grandson: Damon Garrison; and his beloved dog, Hollie.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora with the presentation of military funeral honors.  A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
