        Betty Alice Walker, age 85, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2022, at her home.

        She was born December 10, 1936, in Rinard, the daughter of Elvin and Violet (Evans) Phillips.  She was united in marriage to Noble E. Walker on November 2, 1968, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1984.

        Betty was a homemaker and a member of Clay City Baptist Church.  In the past, she had enjoyed traveling with her mother, and she was often spending time watching her grandkids and working on word search puzzles.  She loved her family.

        She is survived by her 2 sons: Steve Phillips of Ingraham and Noble H. Walker of Clay City; 3 stepchildren: Jake Walker of Louisville, Ruth Lashbrook of Patoka, Indiana, and Kay Taylor of Paris; 5 grandchildren: Stevi Brinkley of Flora, Amanda Walker of Paris, Noble Wayne Walker of Xenia, and Savannah Walker and Lanie Nicole Walker of Stone Mountain, Georgia; several great-grandchildren, a sister: Joyce Carpenter of Lawson, Missouri; as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

        She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister: Lily; 2 brothers: Bernie Phillips and Earl H. Phillips; and several stepchildren.

        A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Clay City Cemetery, where interment will follow.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
