Dorothy Wyatt

   Dorothy Wyatt, age 69, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home, just 9 days away from her 70th birthday.

   She was born December 21, 1951, in Grayling, Michigan, the daughter of Harold Dean “Baldy” and Margaret Betty (Myer) Conner Sr.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth “Kenny” Gene Wyatt on January 25, 1973, in Roscommon, Michigan.  To this union three children were born: Shawn, Charity, and Chad.  Kenny and Dorothy were baptized together May 7, 2015, and they shared 43 wedding anniversaries until his death April 10, 2016.

   Dorothy graduated from Roscommon High School in 1970.  She enjoyed time spent fishing, playing cards, and reading.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandson.  She had babysat in the past, worked at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center, Bel-Tronics, and finally Hella Manufacturing where she retired from in 2015.  Dorothy spent much of her retirement camping at local state parks and fishing as much as possible.

   She is survived by her children: Shawn Erin Williams (Kevin) of Flora, Charity Dawn Mitchell (Derek) of Clay City, and Chad Leo Wyatt (Penny) of Vergennes; siblings: Rosalee (“Butch” Nathan) Stillwell of Grayling, Michigan, Harold (Rachell) Conner Jr. of Tennessee, Brenda Conner of Flora, and Linda (Gerard) Cummings of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 5 grandchildren: Kenna Williams, Sabryna Williams (Brandon Hand), Josie Williams (Austin Davis), Tryston Wyatt, and Bella Wyatt; a great-grandson: Christopher Ray Davis; father-in-law: Noel Wyatt of Clay City; brother-in-law: Wayne Wyatt of Clay City; and sister-in-law: Mona Kay (Steve) Lewis.  

   She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Betty Conner; husband: Kenny Wyatt; and mother-in-law: Kathryn Wyatt.

   A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Bridget Schnautz officiating.  Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or Sailor Springs American Legion Post 0230 and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a memory or condolence visit: www.frankandbright.com
