May 14th, 1948 - Aug 8th, 2021Floyd LaVerl Birk, age 73, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning, August 8, 2021, at Flora Gardens Care Center.
LaVerl was born May 14, 1948, in Mattoon, the son of Floyd Dean and Helen Louise (Whalen) Birk.
LaVerl accepted and offered love unconditionally to everyone in his life. He enjoyed participating in his workshops. He appreciated choosing what he would wear each day, and especially prized gifts of new wristwatches and hats.
He is survived by a sister, Patsy Birk of Olney; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. prior to the ceremony.
