Vernon 'Butch' Rado

   Vernon Burdette “Butch” Rado, age 52, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at his home.

   He was born December 25, 1966, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Ida M. (Young) Rado.

   Butch was a graduate of Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana. He enjoyed athletics and played basketball, football, and baseball.  Butch had a love for the outdoors and time spent in the wilderness camping and hiking with Scarface, his German Shepherd.  He lived several places including Boise, Idaho, and Vincennes, Indiana, and worked in carpentry and construction. He enjoyed getting together with friends and family, traveling, and going on road trips.

   He is survived by his mother: Ida M. Rado of Louisville; 2 sisters: Christina J. Smith of Flora and Bobbie A. Kamboures (Aaron D. Bentley) of Flora; 1 brother: Scott R. Rado of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

   He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents: Carol Eugene and Martha Alice Young; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

   A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  A Memorial Visitation will be 4-5 p.m. prior to the ceremony on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial Donations are suggested to the family for expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.  Please make checks payable to Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
