Linda Young

   Linda Rose Young, age 72, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, formerly of Clay City, Illinois, went to be with the Lord August 3, 2019, at Pete Moore Hospice House in Eugene, Oregon.

   Linda was born September 3, 1947, in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, to John Graham and Carrie Graham (Dezarn).  She was united in marriage to Billy Gene Young on June 15, 1975.  He preceded her in death on November 15, 2014.

   Linda was an apartment manager for over 20 years.  She volunteered at the church clothes drive and had a passion for helping others.

   Linda will be remembered for her love of music.  Her hobbies included playing her violin and harmonica and she could play almost any musical instrument she picked up.  She enjoyed collecting bibles and angels and loved to tell jokes and make everyone laugh.  Linda cherished time spent with her family and most of all she loved her three children she left behind.

   She is survived by one son: Jeffery (Kristle) Peters of Cottage Grove, Oregon; two daughters: Renee (Pat) Senters of Drain, Oregon and Rhonda (Robert) Sturm Jr of Clay City; stepdaughter and stepson: Annette (Billy) Draper and Brad (Sue) Stanley and crew; twelve grandchildren: Chassidy (Brandon) Kittle of Carterville, Robert Sturm III of Clay City, Breanna Thomas of TX, Kimberly Lindsey of Flora, Cyndi Donoho of Clay City, Krista Donoho of Flora, and Cierra Cassano, Tracy (Alex) Senters, Travis (Jeanne) Senters, Triston (Shelby) Peters, Hunter Peters and Kyler Peters, all of Oregon; ten great-grandchildren: Landyn Kittle (Flood), Hudson and Paxton Kittle of Carterville, Maddie, Taylor, and Tyler Earnest of Clay City, Zoey Thomas of Texas, Danner Peters of Oregon, and Braylen and Kaylen of Cottage Grove, Oregon; one brother: Donald (Sue) Graham; two sisters: Betty Sue Ray and Mary Lou Jaque, all of Kentucky; sister friend: Diana Pruitt Persinger of Flora; seven sisters-in-law: Charlotte, Ida, Linda, Velda, Roberta, Donna and Pearl; and three brothers-in-law: Everett, Danny and Jimmy.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Albert, Robert, Jessie and Henry Graham; two sisters: Birdie and Aggie; a brother-in-law: Scott Young; two sisters-in-law: Lou and Florene; a niece: Lisa Ann; and two nephews: Christopher and Everett Young.

   A funeral ceremony will be Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Clay City, Illinois.  Interment will follow at Powers Cemetery, Xenia, Illinois.  Cremation rites were accorded per Linda’s wishes.  Memorial donations to the Sturm family to assist with final expenses are greatly appreciated and will be accepted at the church.
