Harold Tackitt
Jan 6th, 1941 - Apr 8th, 2019Harold Tackitt, age 78, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, April 8, 2019, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
He was born January 6, 1941, in rural Wayne County, the son of Okley and Carrie (Griffin) Tackitt. He married Linda Jackson on April 3, 1996, in Louisville.
Harold drove a semi for Henderson Trucking Co. in Salem for 14 years. He looked forward to going out every morning for coffee and donuts and visiting with his friends he went to school with. He enjoyed sitting in his car and watching traffic and treasured time spent taking Linda to Johnsonville lake camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Tackitt of Louisville; 2 sons: Brian Tackitt of Flora and Lonnie (Angie) Tackitt of Louisville; step-son: Alan (Lori) Beard of TN; grandchildren: Tyler, Logan, Braxton, Bryce, and Emilee Tackitt; 2 stepgrandsons: Brandon (Heather) Beard and Blake Beard; step great-grandchildren: Bethany, Bailey, and Allen Beard; and sisters: Viola Johnson of Flora and Betty Monical of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant grandson: Kaidon Skyler Tackitt; an infant stepgrandson; 2 sisters: Venita (Art) Vest and Lois (Bob) Woods; a brother-in-law: Jack Ray Monical.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or gifts memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.
