Kathryn Erwin Dunnigan

   Kathryn Ann ‘Kitty’ Erwin Dunnigan, age 83, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday morning, March 11, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

   She was born October 11, 1935, in Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late William and Lydia Jeneski.  She married Bernard A. Dunnigan.

   Kitty worked at Sparton Manufacturing for 38 years.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and plants, and she also spent many hours cooking and sewing.  Having her whole family together at the house for special occasions, especially gatherings for the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas brought much joy to Kitty, and has left special lasting memories for everyone.  A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and had been part of the Altar Society.

   She is survived by her husband: Bernard Dunnigan of Flora; 4 children: Debbie (Danny) Greenwood of Flora, Robert R. Jackson Jr. of Marble Falls, TX, Cheryl Jackson of Xenia, and Christine (Tom) McAllister of Flora; grandchildren: Shawn (Troy) Kirby, Jeff (Michelle) Higgason, Susan (Chad) King, Angela (Nate) Bible, Robert Richards, Taylor Garay, Skyler Jackson, Mandy Foreman, Kirby Joe Foreman, Brandi McAllister, Derek (Joy) McAllister, and Ryan McAllister; great-grandchildren: Lyndi (Dusty) Thompson, Logan Greenwood, Madison Ann Kirby, Vincent King, Ivan (Jada) Patrick, Oakleigh Patrick, Cameron Richards, Makenna Richards, Carson Richards, Robert Richards, Sawyer Richards, Ariel Garay, Maverick Foreman, Michel Foreman, Mykayla (Derek) Malawy, Liam Dulaney, Nolan Dulaney, Lane McAllister, Lennon Higgason, and Maggie Higgason; great-great-grandchildren: Jocelyn and Sterling Thompson; 2 sisters: Ann Filice of Gilroy, CA, and Loretta Byerly of Oregon.

   She was preceded in death by her parents: William Jeneski and Lydia Dickerson; siblings: Ed Jeneski, Blanche Bondarchuk, and Adelle Punda.

   A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Flora.  Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted through the funeral home.
