Kenneth L. Myers, age 93, of Flora, IL passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 at his home in Flora, IL. Kenny was born July 28, 1924 in Salem, IL to Jake and Millie Peeler. He married the love of his life, Evelyn (Klein) Myers, on October 14, 1950 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Flora. Evelyn preceded him in death on April 15, 2013 after 63 years of marriage. Kenny was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He worked as a train dispatcher for the B&O Railroad for 38 years. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, sports, and card games.

He is survived by 5 children: Terry (Carolyn) Myers of Flora, Sharon (Kevin) Anfield of Danville, Debbie (Darrell) Gummert of Flora, Diane (Bobby) Briscoe of Flora, Danny (Maria) Myers of Westfield, IN; 12 grandchildren: Tamara (Jim) Malebranche, Jeremy (Mariah) Myers, Nathan (Jordan) Myers, Melissa (Tony) Markiewicz, Mandy (Jan) Thompson, Ashlee Upton, Michael Upton, Samantha Briscoe (fiancé Joshua Tanner), Savannah Myers, Aaron Myers, Joshua Myers, Jordan Myers; 15 great-grandchildren: Isabel, Layla, Avystan, Reagan, Ryder, Eleanor, Rowen, Kevin, William, Landon, Avalynne, Vivienne, Charlotte, Sydney, Giuliana; nieces Mary Helen Hollencamp, Becky Lobeck, Susan Rinehart, Becky Block; nephews Donald Myers and Todd Peeler; and sister-in-law Janet Peeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Jake and Millie Peeler), a daughter (Connie Myers), a grandchild (Collin Myers), brothers (John, Abe, Tom, Paul) and nephew (Richard Myers).

The funeral mass for Kenneth Myers will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6th at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Flora. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5th at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with a 5:00 p.m. Rosary. Memorials may be in the form of donations to the St. Stephen’s Cemetery Fund or Clay County Hospice.
