Robert D. Lickteig, age 88, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.

Bob was born in Wesley, Iowa, on May 14, 1930, the son of Louis and Josephine (Rosner) Lickteig. He married Mary K. Griffith on June 16, 1995, in Clinton, and they have celebrated 23 wedding anniversaries together.

He will be remembered for his beautiful smile. While a resident at the Care Center, Bob often took it upon himself to keep the floors clean of stray leaves, making sure that the front welcome mat was straight and clean, and his friendliness to others when passing out many chocolate treats to visitors. He wore western clothing and was a fan of country music. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a past member of Knights of Columbus along with his father and brothers. He made the decision to be baptized in the Church of Christ and he and Mary attended services together.

Bob is survived by his wife: Mary Lickteig; 2 daughters: Abbie and Kim; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Bobby; and siblings: Al, Ed, George, Theresa, Marge and Tom.
