Janice Workman

   Janice S. Workman, age 68, of Flora, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

 

   Janice was born February 6, 1947, in Wayne County to Okley L. and Bessie (O’Brien) Brown.   She was united in marriage to Larry A. Workman on October 26, 1963, at the home of Judge Prentiss Cosby in Flora, and they shared 52 wonderful years together as husband and wife.

 

  During her working years, Janice was employed at International Shoe Company, Sparton Manufacturing, and the Advocate Press, and was a member of the Flora Assembly of God for over 20 years.  Janice was blessed with a special “golden touch” for gardening and growing beautiful flowers and plants, she enjoyed reading and working puzzles, and she will be remembered for her everlasting love for her family.

 

   She is survived by her husband: Larry Workman of Flora; 2 sons: Larry D. Workman of Flora and Troy E. (Ginger) Workman of Zenith; 4 grandchildren: Autumn Williams, Jake Bennett, Ethan Workman, and Kirsten Workman; 1 great-grandson: Jase; 2 sisters: Vera (Joe) Denton of Clay City and Dixie Young of Xenia; a sister-in-law: Anneliese Brown of Batavia; along with a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Junior Lowell Brown, Larry Edward Brown, and William Henry Brown, and a brother-in-law: Jerry Young. 

 

   A funeral service for Janice Workman will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow at Powers Cemetery, Xenia.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to assist the family with expenses, and will be accepted at the funeral home.   To share a condolence or memory with the family, visit www.frankandbright.com.
