      Janet Kay Hardy, age 85, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, at Axiom Healthcare of Flora.

      She was born September 22, 1940, in Flora, the daughter of Loren Clarence and Edna Margaret (Henderson) McCann. 

      Many will remember Janet from her years working at Flora Wal-Mart.  She had previously worked at the abstract office in Salem. Janet found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—camping, square dancing, crocheting, and showering her Pomeranians with plenty of attention. She was fond of the music of Elvis Presley and was always happy to sit down to a good meal at Texas Roadhouse.

      She is survived by her daughter: Tina (Mike) Winka of Flora; and 3 grandchildren: Josh (Megan) Winka, Matthew Winka, and Brooke Winka.

      She was preceded in passing by her parents.

      A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Kyle Sessions officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.  Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to an Activity Fund at Axiom Healthcare of Flora and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
