Larry Perrine
Sep 24th, 1937 - Aug 5th, 2025Larry Neal Perrine, age 87, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his home.
He was born September 24, 1937, in Flora, the son of William T. and Mildred (Gilman) Perrine.
Larry retired from the City of Flora after working in multiple departments over the years, including the street department, water department, sanitation, and waste management. A devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, he also enjoyed watching Illini Basketball and football, playing pool, and cooking. A true outdoorsman and county boy at heart, Larry could often be found fishing or hunting. He was a member of the Flora Moose Lodge #1384, Flora Elks Lodge #1659, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #2494. Larry will be remembered for his good-natured teasing and his kind, generous heart. He was a member of First Christian Church in Flora.
He is survived by his 2 sisters: Carole M. Perrine of Flora and Dianne Perrine of Flora; several nieces and nephews including: Alyce Fisher of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kelly (Mark) Wrigley of Highland, Kim Keller of Iuka, Jennifer (Mike) Payne of Edwardsville, Carol Perrine of O’Fallon, and Jason Perrine of Flora; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law: Pauline Perrine of Highland.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; 3 brothers: Homer Leslie, Clyde, and Mike Perrine; and 2 sisters: Sally Perrine and Margo Keller.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora with George Coble officiating.
