Wayne Wyatt

     Wayne Dean Wyatt, age 69, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, October 19, 2022, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

     He was born November 5, 1952, in Flora, the son of Noel E. and Kathryn Jean (Herdes) Wyatt.

     Wayne was a 1970 graduate of Clay City High School and was a member of the Sailor Springs Christian Church.  He had worked at various factories over the years including the International Shoe Factory, AMF Bicycle Factory, Florsheim Shoe Factory, and North American Lighting, retiring after 47 years.  Wayne enjoyed tending to his goats, cows, chickens, and horses on the farm and was especially fond of his Belgian horses.  He enjoyed cooking and loved eating sweets.  He will be remembered for his kind, giving spirit, his sense of humor, and his loyalty to his friends and family.

     He is survived by his father: Noel Wyatt of Clay City; sister: Mona (Steve) Lewis of Clay City; nieces and nephews: Shawn (Kevin) Williams of Flora, Charity (Derek) Mitchell of Clay City, Chad (Penny) Wyatt of Vergennes, Jeremy (Katie) Fitch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Cody (Jennifer) Lewis of Clay City; great-nieces and nephews: Kenna Williams, Sabryna (Brandon) Hand, Josie Williams (Austin Davis), Tryston and Bella Wyatt, Jackson Morris, and Isabella, Lennox, Pyper Kay, and Remi Lewis; great-great-nephew: Christopher Davis; and special friend: Lily Stutzman.

     He was preceded in death by his mother: Kathryn Jean Wyatt; grandparents; a brother: Kenneth Wyatt; and sister-in-law: Dorothy Wyatt.

     A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Clay City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the cemetery.  Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay City Cemetery and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
