Dalmus Brooks

Dec 12th, 1941 - Oct 19th, 2021

   Dalmus Lee Brooks, born December 12, 1941, in Thorpe, West Virginia, the son of Everett Dalmus and Blanche Anderson Brooks.

   Dalmus passed from his earthly home on October 19th, 2021, at the Saint Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR.

   Dalmus is survived by his wife Carol Ann (Greenwood) Brooks, together they celebrated 60 years of wedding anniversaries.

   Also surviving are his sons: Everett Lawrence and wife Glenda, Donald Wayne and wife Robin, Brian Douglas and wife Jami; daughter: Carla Ann and husband Lieutenant Colonel Bowe Averill; grandchildren: Candice Brown, Stuart and Jessica Brooks, David Brooks and Bethany Tannahill, Gage and Jordyn Brooks, and Grant, Gavin and Gabriella Averill; great-grandchildren: Sierra and Kadence Brown, Darren Brooks, Trylan and Gwendalyn Brooks, and Duke and Ronen Tannahill; half-sisters: Betty Billinghurst and Vivian Crawford; and half-brothers: Charles, Richard, Clyde, and Steven Brooks.

   Dalmus showed his loyalty to his country by serving in the US Air Force and retired after 26 years. He then continued his career with the Government as an Aircraft Propulsion Consultant for 21 years retiring November 2007 in Cabot, AR.  During his career he served two tours in Vietnam.  He and his family were then stationed in five different countries and ten different states. 

   Dalmus and Carol enjoyed their retirement by spending time traveling in their motorhome.  Their most enjoyable times were springtime traveling to Myrtle Beach where they met up with his brother Everett and Joanne Brooks.  As our hearts mourn for Dalmus, we also mourn for his brother Everett and family as Everett passed away on October 16th. 

   Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters: Francis Bradshaw and Helen Rudd; and brothers: Everett Brooks and Eddie Joe Farley.

   A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Flora Church of the Nazarene in Flora, Illinois, with the presentation of military funeral honors.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Boys Town of Nebraska and will be accepted through the funeral home.  Donations may be mailed to Frank & Bright Funeral Home, 500 N.
