Jerry Davis
Jul 15th, 1940 - Jan 31st, 2021Jerry Wayne Davis, age 80, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Sunday morning, January 31, 2021, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
He was born July 15, 1940, in Wayne County, Illinois, the son of Melvin and Hazel (Stoops) Davis. He was united in marriage to Nancy A. Ferguson on August 27, 1957, in Olney, and together they shared 48 wedding anniversaries until her death May 15, 2006.
Jerry had worked at Valley Steel. He enjoyed country music, played the guitar and banjo, and had written several gospel songs.
He is survived by his 3 sons: Jerry Wayne Davis Jr., Terry Lee (Sandra) Davis, and Darren R. Davis all of Flora; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother: Jack; and 2 sisters: Brenda and Judy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Nancy Davis; and several brothers and sisters.
Burial will take place at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Frank & Bright Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
