Darlene Bonham

     Carolyn Darlene Bonham, age 65, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, November 23, 2020, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her loving husband and kids.

     She was born May 16, 1955, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Carolyn E. (Johnson) Lamphere.  She was united in marriage to David Bonham December 27, 1972, and together they have shared 47 wedding anniversaries.

     Darlene was a member of Flora Assembly of God Church where she and David taught Sunday school class.  She served as a minister’s wife and will be remembered as a strong woman who was strong in her faith.  “What A Day That Will Be” was one of her favorite hymns and she enjoyed singing it with David, as well as a song by The Archies, “Seventeen Ain’t Young,” that was considered “their song” when they were dating.  Darlene volunteered her time with Operation Christmas Child and cherished time spent with family, friends, and spoiling her grandkids.  

     She is survived by her husband: David Bonham; 3 children: Allen (Tonya) Bonham, Sheila (David) Greenwood, and Christina Bonham; grandchildren: Levi, Zachery, Ayden, Grayson, Preston, Kayla, Kyle, Andrew, Brittney, and Cheyenne; 8 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law: Evelyn Bonham; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews also survive.

     She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, George Bonham.

     A memorial ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Flora Assembly of God Church.  In accordance with an Illinois mandate, masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be followed.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to Operation Christmas Child and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a memory or condolence visit: www.frankandbright.com
