Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Golden Cemetery
S. Jean Zimmerman, age 65, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born October 16, 1952, in Fairfield, the daughter of Ralph Kennett Jr. and Helen (Hodges). She married Charles J. Zimmerman October 23, 1970, in Flora, and together they shared 47 years of marriage.
Jean worked most recently at Petter Supply Co. for 12 years, and had recently retired. She was a member of the Louisville American Legion Auxiliary. She loved cooking, cleaning and taking care of her dogs. She also enjoyed being outside fishing and gardening, and always looked forward to having good times with her friends and family.
Jean is survived by her husband: Charlie Zimmerman of Louisville; a sister: Sheila Mattox (Roy) of Geff; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph Kennett Jr., and Lowell “Sug” and Helen Ayers; a son: Charles Jacob “Jake” Zimmerman; and a sister: Rita Wilson.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Golden Cemetery in Louisville, where interment will follow. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be received by the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

My heart is saddened by this loss. I’ve known Jean since grade school. We played together as neighbors and graduated high school together. I have so many memories. I will always remember her beautiful smile and her laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie. RIP Jean❣️ You’ll never be forgotten my friend.

Charlie and Jean have always been good to me. I have many great memories of spending time together visiting over the years. I'm sure going to miss the talks, laughs and amazing cookouts with her. My heart is heavy for sure.

Only talked to Jean a few times. I was lucky. She had a certain quality that made you feel good and that everything was going to be alright. The world has lost a person that was a genuine diamond and heaven has gained a precious soul. My deepest condolences to the family.
To the family. I am very sorry for your loss. It wasn’t that long ago I would stop by jeans desk to say hello. She was a very sweet lady and always helped me even when she didn’t have to. She provided a listening ear when I lost my brother to a very similar situation that she and your family had to go through. I will never forget her gentleness during that time. I’m very sad to hear of her passing and hope you can soon find peace in the sadness. Your family will be in my prayers.
