Ashlynn Michelle Mahon, age 13, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
Ashlynn was born June 18, 2004, in Effingham, the daughter of John C. Mahon and Amber Renee (Lee) Mahon. She was in eighth grade at Floyd Henson Jr. High School, and a go-getter when playing sports from starting for the Lady Pups Basketball team, to playing softball, or running track. She also enjoyed swimming, hunting, and listening to music. Ashlynn was outgoing and unique, and loved to always be involved and doing something.
She is survived by her father: John C. Mahon of Xenia; her sister: Alycia M. Mahon of Xenia; paternal grandfather: Scott Mahon of St. Elmo; paternal grandmother: Melissa Monnahan (William Marcrum) of Cannelton, Indiana; maternal grandparents: Lee Anne (Ken) Wilson of Flora and Craig (Michelle) Lee of Xenia; along with other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Amber Mahon; great-grandparents: Marianne Judd Davis, Ernest and Dolores Lee, Clida Mahon, William Mahon, and Hoyt and Rosemary Hopwood.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 22nd at Christ's Church in Flora. Interment will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to FJHS (Flora Junior High School) Athletic Department and will be accepted through the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home.

This little angel is one of the smartest most talented girls I knew not only was she my niece but she was like a daughter to me I watched her grow up and become a beautiful young lady the best memories I had with her was when she was little she loved the UFC always wanted to become a UFC fighter she would set in the living room and do new moves on this big pillow we would teach her new moves on it to her father and myself would always get down on the floor and let her try everything on us first but it didn't take us long to realize that she was getting to good and we couldn't handle it lol so we directed her to that big pillow she had a blast and we didn't have to go through the pain she would unleash. We are all missing her so much it is unexplainable but if we all have to stick together and keep going she will always be watching over us and helping the big man guide us along through this journey they call life. One day we will all be together again and that's when the real fun begins love you so much baby girls love uncle Bradley
I'm so sorry for your loss!! Ashlynn was a beautiful young girl with a beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she fly high, and at peace now. She is now with her Momma.
