Burial: Bunker Cemetery, Rinard
Visitation: 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home
David Lee Taylor, age 60, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday night, September 24, 2024.
He was born October 19, 1963, in Flora, the son of James “Jim” B. Taylor and Rita A. (Yates) Taylor. On March 26, 1993, he married Kara Lea Greenwood in Owensboro, Kentucky, and together they celebrated 31 wedding anniversaries.
David worked as a city mail carrier for the Fairfield Post Office. He was a NASCAR fan through and through, with a real admiration for Jeff Gordon. In his free time, David loved hunting for arrowheads and Indian artifacts, and you could always see his soft side when he’d stop to scratch a cat’s ears or give them a little tap of affection. But more than anything, he enjoyed sitting down and catching up with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Kara Taylor of Cisne; his mother: Rita Taylor of Rinard; 2 daughters-in-law: Brittany (Landon) Fewkes of Albion and Alex (Tony) Milheiser of Bandana, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren: Jameson Weedon, Zoey Weedon, Taylor Fewkes, and Brinely Fewkes, all of Albion, and Kori Milheiser, Cody Weedon, and Dillon Weedon, all of Bandana, Kentucky; his sister: Barbara (Bruce) Brown of Flora; and his brother: Mike (Nancy) Taylor of Grayville.
He was preceded in passing by his father: Jim Taylor; his paternal grandparents: Donald and Mary (Bowles) Taylor; and his maternal grandparents: Fred and Irene Yates.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Ernie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Bunker Cemetery, Rinard. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
